A New Year Giveaway

Seasons Giving Blog Hop Year 6 - Happy New Year!!! 2018!!!

Yes, it's here once again.  It's the biggest blog hop, that I know of, for paper-crafty people.  Now is the time to meet some of those artist who design on your favorite company's websites.  Try to stop by each site to enter each individual giveaway.  Some are closing as early as Thursday 5 Jan, I believe, while others close Sunday 8 Jan.

If you don't decide to follow all of them now you can still check in from time to time.  And, then you'll follow them.  So, save the list for a later time,  a time when you can poke around and see some of the industry's teachers, instructors, and designers on their home turf.  Take you time to soak up some of the beauty they have created.

It's a long list so I'm going to get back to it.

Many Happy Blessing throughout the New Year

I tried to make a go of this last year and found out a few things.

  1. Need to take better pictures
  2. Need to finish at least 80% of project started
  3. There will never be a good time when you have babies wanting your attention
  4. I can't do any of this when my stress level is up (because the body will make me want to shut it down)
  5.  Learn when to stop and say 'it's done'

I'm quite sure there are more, but I'm not going to be too hard the first time out (this year)

Love Blog Hops

I have been going through the list of  Seasons Givings Blog Hop 2015  and it is very long.  But, it is worth it.  Visit each and every site because I'm sure you'll find something to make you go back a time or two to a least a few of them.  Each artist gives, as every artist does, a little bit of him or herself.  Even if there are no more prizes to win you'll still do very well.

Look at it as taking a trip to new locales.  You hit the right site, (for you) and you will spend the day there.  The different shapes and colors will stop you in your tracks and intrigue you.  Find a room, shut the door and explore.  Make sure you have plenty to drink because you don't want to get stopped going to and from the kitchen.

So, enjoy the day, the night and the tomorrow I'll be back soon.

I found this in my draft.

Well, here goes nothing.  And it will be nothing if I don't get it right.  I learned how to load pictures to my computer, yay me, which is step one.  Now, I have to play with adding a picture here.

Ok, that wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.  These are cards I made for the people we see the Nutcracker with each year.  It somehow became our yearly trip of culture.

Looking at these pictures tells me that I need to work on taking pictures or get a new camera.

For the Year 2014...

2013 ended nicely after some major drama that has been going on since the end of summer.  We can now breath a lot better.  Everyone is a lot healthier.  And now for the big surprise….

I won this wonderful prize sponsored by Xyron.

2014...

I will work on this with a lot more effort.  I will learn how to add pictures the soon that fit my post.  I will work on my creations with more heart.  I won't let my health rule me so much (yeah right).

Little Prince Blog Hop

I wanted to get this out as soon as I found out about it.  This Hop is all about making something for little boys.  I don't know about anyone else but, I always have trouble thinking of something for a boy.  Girls seem to be so easy, bright colors and flowers.

Start here: http://homespunelegance.blogspot.com/2013/03/little-prince-blog-hop-day-1-easy.html.  It's a three day Hop for anyone that needs ideas and want to win great prizes.  Everyone is giving away prizes!!  You need to comment by April 5.

Here is a gift I made for one of my doctors.  She had a boy in December and wanted to give something that was not Christmas.  It took me more than a minute to come up with this idea.

Well, it looks like my picture will have to wait.  I can't seem to get to upload.  It's a cute picture frame for a little boy.  Just make sure to stop by the Blog Hop.

Blog Hops

I think everyone should follow blog hops.  Go to your favorite company's blog and just go with the flow.  You'll get introduced to other companies and see wonderful works of art.  They have introduce me to companies that I've never seen in stores but should be.  The ideas for projects can be a little overwhelming but, well worth the ride.

After each hop my list of sites to follow gets even longer.  Some days I feel that I spend all day just looking at sites that I don't work on anything.  Ok, to be honest, it doesn't just feel like that but that is really what my day is like.  I'm a little intimidated about showing my stuff.

I have to just remember the saying: Dance like no one is watching.  That's what I'll do and just get my pictures on my site.  At least my mom will like some of it.  This will be, 'mom's refrigerator door', where I put all my artwork.

Pictures

I have pictures of some of the cards I have already given away.  I don't have any list of materials because I didn't make any at the time.  I never thought I would have a blog in the first place so, live and learn.
